Compromise stimulus includes tax credit for most workers
Government checks should start popping up in mailboxes across the U.S. under a compromise reached by the House and the Senate for President Barack Obama's economic stimulus. Most workers would get a tax credit of $800 per couple; benefits would increase for the unemployed; subsidies would be introduced for health insurance; and first-time home buyers would see a bigger tax break.
