Insiders warn economy lacks strength to support stock, bond recovery
Reports and forecasts related to economic activity, including employment, manufacturing and housing demand, appear to be improving, and markets are celebrating the good news. However, some economists and money managers are offering a word of caution. They said the economy is not yet strong enough and needs a surge in consumer spending, home buying and business investment to sustain long-term recovery in stocks and bonds.
